Patrik Bartholomeos Niğde merkeze bağlı Hasaköy’de bulunan Azize Makrina Kilisesi’nde 90 yıl aradan sonra Bahar Ayini’ni yönetti. Ayinde, Kutsal Kitap’tan ayetler okundu ve ibadet yapıldı. Yaklaşık 2 saat süren ayine, Arjantin, Yunanistan, İstanbul’dan çeşitli dernek üyeleri ve Yunanistan Tarım Bakanı Yardımcısı Maksimos Harakopulos ile yaklaşık 300 kişi katıldı. Ayine katılanlar, ellerinde mum tutarak söylenen ilahilere eşlik etti. Bartholomeos, ayin sonunda kilise çıkışı bir erkek çocuğu sevdi.
Belde halkı da kilise önünde yöresel el dokuması kilim sergisi açtı. Niğde’de 1858 yılında inşa edilen Azize Makrina Kilisesi’nde 90 yıl aradan sonra ilk kez ayin yapıldığı belirtildi.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Ordinates the Spring Mass
His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew celebrated the Spring Mass after 90 years in Saint Macrina Church located in Hasakoy, a district of Nigde Province in central Anatolia. During the service, texts from the Holy Book were read and hymns were sung. The service lasted almost two hours. 300 people, including some members from various organisations from Argentina, Greece and Istanbul as well as Mr Maksimos Harakopulos, the Greek Vice-Minister for Agriculture, attended the mass. The participants carried and lighted their candles and sang hymns. While getting out the church, His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew caressed a kid at the end of the mass.
Local people exhibited their hand-woven carpets in front of the church. It was noted that the first service was held after 90 years in Saint Macrina Church, which was built in 1858 in Nigde Province.
His All Holiness will officiate a service tomorrow at 9 a.m. in a church in central Nigde.
