On the 50th day after Easter, a special service was held in Iskenderun on the occasion of the “Feast of Pentecost”, which celebrates the “Ascension of Jesus Christ and the Pouring Out of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles.” The Holy Mass was held with the participation of a small number of congregation members in accordance with the pandemic rules.
A ceremony was held at the Müjdeleme (Annunciation) Latin Catholic Church in Iskenderun for the “Feast of Pentecost”, which is celebrated as the day when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles after the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross and his ascension to the sky. The Church Father Dariusz Dogondke conducted the service. In the ceremony, which few congregation members attended due to the pandemic, passages from the Bible about the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles were also read.
Father Dariusz Dogondke, who also spoke about the Pentecost Feast, underlined that the Holy Spirit should always take place in our lives; “Jesus Christ is our salvation in the way of God! We must witness this in front of everyone. That’s why we need the power of the Holy Spirit.
Christians testify to their faith by the power of the holy spirit. We should all pray like this today, ‘Come, Holy Spirit! Fill our hearts with light from the almighty skies! Come, the source of our blessings…
