The Awakening Youth, which has been bringing Christian youth together since 2008, came together again on March 4. The event focused on the suffering of people who lost their homes and families in the severe earthquake that hit our country and Syria. Vahan Isaoglu, Pastor of Kadikoy International Community Church, shared about the disaster and suffering.
Can Yazıroğlu from the Kadikoy International Community Church led a time of worship with hymns as the youth prayed to God. Then Pastor Vahan Isaoglu shared about the suffering. Pastor Isaoglu said, “Our hearts are burning, we are going through a great pain and tragedy as a country. In the meantime, the Church continues to help the earthquake zone with all its strength and the light of the Church shines among our suffering people. So, what do we have? Even if we don’t go to the area, we can use what we have to support people.“
After words of encouragement, in a time of conversation and prayer, the young people shared their feelings about the disaster and the suffering and prayed. The event continued with hymns glorifying God and the young people ate together and talked.
The Awakening Youth meetings are for Christian youth and are open to all Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant youth. (SAT-7 TÜRK/SMY)
